What can you give me that I can’t do myself?

Let’s say you’ve got the time and the inclination to do the writing yourself. Do you know the theories about successful direct marketing? Have you proven your writing skills over hundreds of pieces? Do you know the most common mistakes that people make when they’re writing copy? Do you know the golden rules for powerful copywriting? If you’re not sure, call on someone who does.

How long will it take you to do my work?

That depends what it is, although we’re normally talking just a few days (unless it’s a big project). Copy tends to benefit from having a bit of space in which to let it ‘marinate’ but I’m a master juggler when it comes to fitting in urgent work.

Why should I work with you?

Well, I guess experience counts for a lot. There’s also the reassurance that I’ll tell you if I don’t think I can do something. I can do without the stress of having to wing it, thank you. One thing that springs to mind as a no-no for me is medical copy. Hopefully, I’m a pleasure to work with too. And I never underestimate how important that is in your working day.

Do you have a minimum project size or fee?

I really don’t mind how big or small the project is – variety is one of the joys of my job. You’ve got my rates (below). Actually, I do have a minimum fee - £40 (or 1 hour's work).

Let’s cut to the chase – fees.

I aim to offer plenty of value for money that makes you feel good about our working relationship and about me and my business. (Actually, it’s important for me to feel good about it too.) I’m quite happy to tell you up front what my prices are because I’ve planned them to offer that real value. I charge £40 per hour or £250 per day for copywriting (please see www.thecopywritingcoach.co.uk for copywriting course prices), plus all the benefits of my experience thrown in with my compliments.

How do we work together?

A brief can be by e-mail, phone, fax or face-to-face – I’ve worked all these ways successfully. The next stage is for you to receive the first draft. My aim is to give you copy that you’re totally satisfied with. When you’re happy, I’m happy.

Can you help with anything else?

I know my limitations when it comes to design! But I’m an experienced conceptualiser and can provide creative concepts for you. As you’d expect after what seems a lifetime in an industry, I work with many fellow professionals and can provide you with expert assistance on design, marketing, campaign strategy and evaluation, print buying, web design and more.
